"Specializing in Communications" enabled AT&E to stay in touch with the evolving telecommunications industry.

A Brief History of Gamewood Technology Group, Inc.
Gamewood Data Systems, Inc. founded by Drs. Frank and Dugan Maddux after developing one of the first laboratory electronic data interchange prorams for the dialysis industry.
Dial-up and educational Internet services developed and offered in Danville and Pittsylvania County.
- 1994 - 1995
Gamewood Data Systems, Inc. founders Frank and Dugan Maddux recognized a need for a kidney disease information clearinghouse and established an Internet based portal called RENALNET. RENALNET was one of the first medical web sites in the world. RENALNET has been the recipient of many awards since its inception in 1994. In 1995, the RENALNET concept was reposited in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History.
- 1994 - 2002
The company grew Internet services for dial-up, ISDN, T1, SDSL, Fiber and Commercial Terrestrail Fixed Wireless services and expanded into multiple data centers in communities throughout Pittsylvania County.
- 1994 - 2001
The seed of the Gamewood Healthcare Network application suite originated in a software solution developed by Dr. Frank Maddux. The concept of an easily accessible patient history, combined with the lessons of information availability learned in the development of RENALNET, was a catalyst for the development of a robust set of tools for the practicing physician and medical organizations. This application service-based solution has since matured and has been successfully deployed in many clinics.
Gamewood Data Systems, Inc. becomes Gamewood, Inc.
Gamewood, Inc. merged with Able Telecommunications and Electronics, Inc. This moved Gamewood, Inc. from its key role as a regional Internet Service company and positioned it as a service company allowing it to provide installation and maintenance services for telecommunications and networking. It also allowed the company to expand Internet services and provide Terrestrial Fixed Wireless solutions to residential and small business customers and organizations.
Gamewood, Inc. spins off the Gamewood Healthcare Network and application services division into its own company, Health IT Services Group, Inc (HITSG). HITSG is later purchased by Fresenius Medical Care North America (2009) and becomes Acumen Physician Solutions (2012).
Gamewood, Inc. becomes Gamewood Technology Group, Inc. after merging with Sound Solutions, Inc. to expand Gamewood's ever increasing line of products to include security systems and services and audio-visual and conference room communications solutions.
Gamewood Technology Group, Inc. merges with Kimbanet, Inc., based in Martinsville, Virginia, to provide regional tower construction and services, terrestrial fixed wireless, dial-up and ADSL Internet services in Martinsville and Henry County, Virginia.
The tower division of Gamewood Technology Group, Inc. was sold to Mid-Atlantic Broadband Communities Corporation.
